Christian Liaigre is a French-born designer who trained at the prestigious Paris Academy of Fine and Decorative Arts and taught drawing shortly thereafter. In the 1980’s Christian Liaigre began to venture into furniture designing. It was in 1985 and 1987 that he first opened his design studio and showroom, respectively. Over the same period, he also opened showrooms in different international locations, from London to Saint Barthelemy to Bangkok. Due to his innate love for the arts and his focus in integrating cultural and traditional themes into his designs, he was able to secure the favor of prestigious clients like Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, and Rupert Murdoch. Many of this most memorable projects have been immortalized in two books published in 2004 and 2008, the Maison – Christian Liaigre (Thames & Hudson) and Liaigre (Flammarion).

A partnership with Edmond de Rothschild Capital Partners in 2009 has strengthened the company image and reputation further.
