It wasn’t all that long ago that the word green simply referred to a color. It conjured up images of lush green lawns, sparkling emeralds or talking frogs. My how times have changed! Today the word still refers to a color, of course, but more often than not it is used to reference recycling, reducing toxins or refers to an environmentally friendly product. There is green water, green furniture, green cars and green buildings. Kravet has jumped on the green bandwagon and developed a line of eco-friendly fabrics that make it possible for you to create a healthy home and protect the environment even if green is not your decorating color of choice.
The Kravet Green line is a collection of fabrics that have been produced from 100% recycled polyester. To insure an eco-friendly product, water based finishes and environmentally friendly dyes have been used. These fabrics are available in four different collections:
• Earth offers textural items like seagrass and raffia in colors you would expect—warm beige and tan, yummy chocolate brown and sophisticated gray and black.
• Fire speaks of crimson red, orange and regal purple.
• Ocean is, of course, a collection of soothing blues and greens softened with a touch of beige.
• Ultrasuede is a faux suede microfiber product available in several neutral colors that will complement any interior.
Patterns are soft and understated and speak of ferns and vines with an exotic paisley or trellis design also available.
While Kermit may say it is not easy being green, with products like those found in the Kravet Green Collection it is certainly easy to create a green home.
