About Pierre Frey Fabric
Traditional yet surprising and continually evolving, Pierre Frey is one of the finest French fabric and furniture houses worldwide. Established since 1935, this prestigious company has been producing the most exquisite furniture and fabric collections for three quarters of a century, and counting.
The Pierre Frey Design House: Pierre Frey prides itself in being a luxury design house – a “French maison de luxe”. This family-owned enterprise is deeply rooted in its well-preserved tradition, having been established in the year 1935. Since 1961 the company’s fabric collections are produced through its own fabric production headquarters in the north of France. Yet this French fabric house welcomes innovation and responds to the demands of contemporary tastes and times through their more than 7,000 items and 30,000 documents. These include Pierre Frey designs, carpets, and fabric samples which date to as far back as the 16th century. While Pierre Frey Company used to start out in the design and manufacture of fabrics and furnishings, it is also engaged in the creation of furniture and accessories suited for the modern home and contemporary interiors. Due to the expertise and efficiency with which Pierre Frey Fabrics are made, the brand has remained a top choice for some of the world’s best interior designers, architects, upholsterers, luxury and boutique hotels, and even museums. As a brand, Pierre Frey Fabrics is best known for its ability to produce the same antique texture of an obscure painting on fabric, or to emboss certain motifs into sensuous, luxurious silk. The patterns of Pierre Frey Fabrics are inspired by scenes and cultures all over the world, whether it’s 18th century France, ancient China, or exotic Africa. Pierre Frey Fabrics are traditional, yet contemporary and eclectic, combining some of the most luxurious materials with the most inventive of prints, motifs, and a 5,000-strong color palette.
Pierre Frey Fabrics Collections: Pierre Frey Paris is comprised of four brands, namely, Pierre Frey, Braquenie, Fadini Borghi, and Boussac. The brand uses contemporary materials, elegant patterns, and inspirational styles, resulting in a chic, eclectic Parisian flair. A wide range of materials or yarns are used in the construction of Pierre Frey Fabrics, furnishings, and accessories including brocade, brushed cotton, chenille yarn, chintz, duchess satin, embroidery, and many others, including the more exotic abaca and agave. Patterns range from stripes to tiles, while particular types include washable, no-fire, outdoor, seating, and organic cotton fabrics. The styles of Pierre Frey Fabrics are extensive and impressive, moreover. Styles influenced and inspired by history, culture, and art are made available through this luxury design house – The 40’s, Chinoserie, Contemporary, Geometric, Orient-Persia, Renaissance, Pop, 18th Century Style, and Journeys “Around the World”. Velvets and cottons are among the most sought after Pierre Frey Fabrics, including the luxurious OPERA velvet, which may be used for drapery or seating. One of the simplest, most basic fabrics is the ZEN embroidery, which is handcrafted and deeply embossed. Serenite is another type of linen embroidery, printed with Japanese motifs in the softest of shades. For a more contemporary vibe, Moon Laine features circle prints with metal effects. For a more exotic, sensuous style, there is Marmara, a jacquard textile with a geometric, Anatolian motif.
The Newest from Pierre Frey:One of the newest offerings from Pierre Frey is the Zen collection, which is referred to by the company as an “invitation to introspection.” Taking inspiration from celestial elements, astrology, and even art and mythology, this collection is made to evoke a certain serenity of mind and spirit. The collection includes cottons, velvets, embroideries, linens, sheers, jacquards, semi-plains, and even wools.
